In this homefront movie, Broker is an ex-DEA agent, not a former Minnesota cop, as he is in the book, who moves out to a rural town in the south of the United States to begin a new life with his daughter, Maddie (Izabela Vidovic), following the death of his wife. At first, things seem to be as idyllic as Broker would have hoped, with horses to ride, lakes to swim in and a large house to call their own, however things soon take a turn for the worse when Boker's daughter fights back against the school bully.The motor of the bully Kate Bosworth wants revenge against the out-of-towners, and enlists the help of the local meth Kingpin, Gator (James Franco), to give he the spooks and make sure that Broker knows that he's being toyes with, and will keep being toyed with. the thing about Broker though is that he knows how to tkae care of himself, a fact that only angers Gator and prompts him to wage war against the former lawman. Armed withguns, Gator breaks into his home with his thugs to kidnap Broker, who will stop at nothing to make sure that his little girl get home safely.

Homefront interestingly and creatively uses school bullying as a catalyst for a deeper story. In this movie, Statham plays Phil Broker, a single parent and a former DEA operative. He and his younger daughter move to a rural town. Broker's daughter takes action into her own hands when she is bullied. By defending herself against the bully, it becomes the start of a domino effect as the bully's uncle is the town's drug kingpin who specializes in crystal meth. It ends up being a showdown between Broker and Gator with the latter being the drug kingpin.
