The Ford Mondeo Vignale Concept will debut at the Frankfurt Motor show in the coming week featuring signature styles cues that include upgraded chrome trim, unique wheels and quilted leather upholstery that calls to mind that found in upscale brands like Bentley. Mondeo is the name used for the popular Ford Fusion midsize model overseas. Owners will also get a personalized experience, with specialized dealership representative and services. The Vignale name was first used by an Italian coachbuilder back in the 1940's, but came to be owned by Ford through various acquisitions. In 2015, Ford expects the brand to be in showroom. Ford is going after buyers in the near -premium segment by announcing a new luxury-oriented sub-brand called Vignale, which makes its formal debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto show . For the interior, Vignale models will feature quilted leather trim as well as made by soft-touch materials, extending to the steering wheel, instrument panel, center console, door top-rolls and center arm rest. Buyers will also be able to opt for embossed scuff plates and floor mats with thick pile carpet. Technology buffs will be catered for by a Ford SYNC with MYFord Touch interface, wi-fi capability and adaptive headlights, among other items.
It something looks like a Vignale could bring some nice touches to the Blue Oval lineup. Ford is using its latest Mondeo, the global version of the Fusion mid-size sedan, as the platform to launch Vignale. The automaker has confirmed however that the other models will get the Vignale touch. Vignale brands what exactly it brings to the table.
