Skoda at Frankfurt

  Skoda has revealed the facelifted Skoda Yeti at the Frankfurt Motor Show and the compact off-roader's awkward looks have made way for something altogether more stylish. The most notable changes are the front, where the centrally mounted lights have been replaced by a set of square headlights and foglights mounted low down in the bumber. There's a sharper grille and Skoda's new monochrome badge too. Frankfurt motor show 2013 is the changes at the rear are slightly less pronounced, but there's a new design for the taillights and the same triangular creases either side of the number plate, which are borrowed from the Rapid and Octavia.
             Skoda has also introduced two as yet trim levels an outdoor trim for those who want anoff-road look and a city trim for those who will be sticking to streets. The green outdoor cargets rugged plastic cladding and more obvious underbody protection. The white city gets body-coloured bumpers and side sills for a classier look. A fresh steering wheel, new seat fabric options and new dash inserts pep up the cabin. The Yeti's engine line-up is unchanged but there are a few new engine/transmission combinations. The front-wheel-drive 104bhp 1'6 litre TDI can now be ordered with a seven-speed DSG gearbox, while the 168bhp 2.0 litre TDI engine is available with both four-wheel drive and a six-speed auto fitted. The yeti is doing great not only in the showrooms, but also on the roads or in rough terrain," says werner Eichhorn,member of the Skoda board member for sales and marketing. In its revised form, the Skoda Yeti is now even more attractive and versatile. This way we want to strengthen our market positions even further. The current Yeti stats at 15, 850 pounds and we're not expecting the updated car to command too much of a premium when it goes on sale by the end of the year.
